Which NIC is used for backup? Management and/or VM-Nics? Speed-Issue

Which NICs are used for the transfer?

I want to setup new server with optimal nic-teaming.

3 NICs = 1x management-port, 2x VMs OR 2x management-port, 1x VMs?

4 NICs = 2x management-port, 2x VMs OR 3x management-port, 1 VMs OR 1x management-port, 3x VMs?

Any information is welcome.

Hello,

I understand you are configuring NIC teaming at hypervisor (ESXi / Hyper-v) side not at VM Explorer server. While adding hypervisor host in VM Explorer we need to provide hostname or IP address under connection settings. The backup traffic between hypervisor host and VM Explorer will be determined by this configured hostname / IP. You can use all the interfaces if you add the hypervisor server using the different IP(NICs) in VM Explorer, however for optimum performance we should avoid multiple backups at same time.

VM Explorer doesn't handle traffic between multiple NICs, as it won't be able to automatically switch between NICs and the one used isn't determined by VM Explorer but by the configuration.
