Hello,

as far as I understand your post, you have connected several standalone tape drives.

Please confirm.

Currently, VM Explorer supports only Tape Libraries and Autoloaders, no standalone drives.

See attached file from the VM Explorer User Guide as a reference.

Best regards,

Michael

Re: No Tape found on Windows Server 2008/R2

Hi, please provide details on the make / model of the tape device you're trying to connect to. In order for VM Explorer to see the tape drive it must meet the following requirements:

  •  Barcoded media is required
  •  Mixed-media partitions are not supported
  •  Device Manager on the Windows Server that VM Explorer is installed on needs to see both the tape drives and the media changer

HPE VM Explorer has been officially qualified with the following devices (as noted in the User Guide):

  • HPE StoreEver 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader
  • HPE StoreEver MSL2024
  • HPE StoreEver MSL4048
  • HPE StoreEver MSL6480
  • HPE StoreEver MSL8096
  • HPE StoreOnce VTL
  • Dell PowerVault 124T

Re: No Tape found on Windows Server 2008/R2

Today I try connect two differents VLT (OS see changer and tape drives) but VME can't recognize it. StoreOnce try yet, but it is a problem for VM Explorer.

Hi, for StoreOnce VTL to work you need to have the HPE StoreEver tape library drivers installed on the VM Explorer server. For other devices you will need to ensure their drivers are loaded.
