QTP object identification vs UFT insight object identification

Hi HP Team,

Recently we moved our project from QTP 11 to UFT 11.53. So i tried to used insight objects to identify images instead of using normal object identification in my project,

So my question is:

1. Can't we use insght objects for image identification on web application?

2. Is it necessary to use insght objects for only when

  • UFT does not recognizes the AUT
  •  Running on remote machine or non windows platform ??

2.  How will manage insght objects when maintenance required ? is it different from normal objects maintenance ?

I would really appreciate the response.

Thanks,

Swat..

Re: QTP object identification vs UFT insight object identification

Hello,

To answer your questions:

1. Depending on how the image is recognized and what operations you need to perform on it;

2. It is not necessary but among the recommended workarounds for non-supported controls. Using it for this purpose again depends on the technology behind the controls and the operations you need to perform against them;

And yes, for running remotely on non-Windows platform.

3. Here are some practices to minimize maintenance: http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM00271874
