Problem with creation of New CIs in HP UCMDB

Hi,

I am trying to create the CIs in HP UCMDB 9.03 product progrmatically.

To do this I am using the TQL quries. For some of the CIs it work without any problem.

But while creating the instances of CI Types  like Process, Sql Server ..., it s asking to provide the root_container property.

1. What is a root_container?

2. How can I know the value of 'root_container'  this property in advance, while creating an instace of CI type such as "Process"?

3. Do we have any API which provides the root_container value?

Please provide the answers to the above queries. Please let me know if there is an another approach to create these type of CIs.

Thanks in advance...

Regards,

Pavan

Re: Problem with creation of New CIs in HP UCMDB

Hi,

Basically "root_container" stores the value of the Node which is holding the Node Element.

The mentioned Process and SQL Server  cannot stand alone in the IT infra without a Node Container, so it is mandatory for this Attribute for such CI types to be filled up.
