Is DataFlowProbe installation a MUST for uCMDB?

Hi experts,

Can uCMDB work standalone, or do we *must* always install DataFlowProbe to use it?

Can uCMDB work without DataFlowProbe installation?

In case they need both to be installed, can they be installed on the same server?

Many thanks!

Re: Is DataFlowProbe installation a MUST for uCMDB?

uCMDB can be installed without a dataflow probe but all the discoveries and integrations you want to execute require the presence of a dataflow probe so if you want to use the product without any CI's in it in it yes otherwise it is mandatory.

You can install the dataflow probe on the same server for testing purposes but I strongly advice you to use tow separate nodes .

Kind regards,

Actually,  you CAN run integration jobs using "Integration Service" which is installed on uCMDB Server. Integration Service is a Data Flow Probe but with limited functionality - it can only run Java based adapters, it can't run Jython based discovery or Jython-based integration flows (like VMware vCenter discovery). Integration Service is disabled by default and must be enabled before using. Check "Data Flow Management Guide" for more details.
