Creating Person CI (Under Business CI Type)

Hello Experts,

I need to populate the "Person" CI in the UCMDB so that I can include this information in the application views I have created to show, who is the owner of which application.

Any pointers??

Also How do we discover/create CIs related with Business Unit, Business Service View, IT Process etc..

Thanks
Varun

Hi Varun,

You need to create the Person CI under Business group of ITUM.

Re: Creating Person CI (Under Business CI Type)

Sorry, ITUM - IT Universe Manager.

I haven't faced any such scenario till now, so really didn't had a chance to explore in this line of requirement. There is right source which can be integrated to UCMDB & having this information. Only one such area which usually have this information maintained & updated is Active Directory. Not sure if this fits into the CMDB data model through any adapter/integration.

Thanks,
Raj

Re: Creating Person CI (Under Business CI Type)

Hi Varun,

You already have OS Users CIT available. Hence to achieve your goal, you can create a CI of CIT OSUsers and then relate this user to the application you need.

This needs to be done in two steps.
1. Create a OSUser CI in the IT Universe Manager.

2. Create an enrichment rule to relate the above user and the application.

Re: Creating Person CI (Under Business CI Type)

Hi ,

You can populate the person CI by using the following two ways:

- adding the CI manually in IT Universe manager
- Using a .CSV file to populate the person CIT with CI

- To relate the CI to business service you have to do the following:

- Make sure that you discover your entire environement
- Create the Business service CI and relate the approiate discvered CI to your business service

please note that business service. it's a logical CI which will not discver by DDM

yo can do it in modeling studio

Hope this helps you
