Hi Experts,

is it possible to access back end DB of UCMDB to create views from different tables?

Thanks,

Raj

Re: Access backend DB of UCMDB

Views in UCMDB are created based or CI instances (perspective-based views) or based on CI Types (pattern-based views).

"View" in DB world (query over DB tables) and "view" in UCMDB world are 2 totally different things.

Hi RajChakraborty,

Yes. You can get direct access to DB and do some customization in it. You only need apropriate client software and sufficient privelegies to DB.

But I think this cause that you system lose HP support, so you will not be able to get support in case of any errors.

Re: Access backend DB of UCMDB

Hi

(a reason why we create DB view in normal DB to avoid it)

Now, it impacts on the performance for some cases.

So are there any option to access the back end DB as I could not find any way to make it from front end?

does HP support team help on this matter?

Thanks again,

Raj

Re: Access backend DB of UCMDB

Direct access to DB tables used by UCMDB server is not supported. UCMDB offers lots of different supported ways to extract UCMDB data, so if you want to work on DB level you will be doing it at your own risk and will get no help from HP Support in case any questions or problems.
