There is: - HP OM v 9.00 on a server running Windows Server 2008 r2. - HP Operations Smart Plug-in for Virtualization Infrastructure v 2.00. - OMW agent version 11.10 installed on vMA v5.1. - VMA v5.1 - Suse linux 11 x 64, for monitoring virtual infrastructure. - VMA is connected to the management server OMW - On vMA connected ESXi 5.1 hosts (using vifp addserver <ESX host>). - On virtual machines installed Vmware tools
question: - Why in the OMW console displays ESX Hosts as hosts that are monitored by SNMP? So it should be? - Why in the console OMW ESX Hosts will not appear in "Services"? - Why are not shown in the console Virtaul machines OMW, which is connected to the host?
With the VISPI, it has the ability to add Guest VM's as SNMP nodes so that messages can be mapped to those guests. If you have an OM agent on your guests already, this is not needed. The AUTO ADDITION SETTINGS policy, discussed in the User guide is what controls this.
The ESX hosts should show up in services. They first place to check is using ovcodautil on the node and make sure there are BYLS metrics for those hotsts. Once that is verfiied make sure you hav deploye the SI-SystemDiscovery and VI-Discovery policies.
