SRC Approval Comments

Hi,

Is there a way to prompt to enter comments when approving a request in SRC?

I'm using SRC 1.30

The option is available when denying a request.

Thank you.

Re: SRC Approval Comments

Have you tried following?

Start SM client, log in to SM as an admin.

Choose

1) Tailoring > Doc Enginge > Objects

2) file name: incidents

3) Approvals-tab: Require appr. comments -> true

Re: SRC Approval Comments

I've tried it, it doesn't work for SRC1.30

I know it works on SRC1.40!

Re: SRC Approval Comments

I don't have SM 9.30 in my hands, but at least you can check if it's even possible.

Go to Script Library, check script: ScAPI_svcCatApprovals and function approveApproval.

If it's possible to enter comments, there should be something like this (copied from SM9.31):

//Validate comments
if(comments.length() == 1 && comments[0] == null) {
comments = [""];
}
vars['$denyAllComment'] = comments;

Re: SRC Approval Comments

They are actually setting the value to an empty array:

function approveApproval() {

setExitType(NORMAL_EXIT);

// var $denyAllComment must have value to use bg mode

vars['$denyAllComment']=newArray("");//can't use new Array() here, in RAD, it will be a null value.

looks like this feature was introduced in SM9.31 / SRC1.40, it is not available in SRC1.30!

Re: SRC Approval Comments

Okay, if that's the case, you're right - it's not possible to force approver to input approval comments via SRC in SM 9.30.

And I'm sure that HP won't implement that feature to SM 9.30, you've to upgrade to SM 9.31 to get it! Sorry...
