serversettings.xml parameter values

Hi there,

In serversettings.xml file min and max pool size is mentioned as 6 and 16 respectively. And also thread pool size as 10. What is the significance of these parameters and can I increase these parameter values? Is there any performance impact on it?

Pls. advice.

Regards,
Smitha.

Re: serversettings.xml parameter values

Hi Snitha,
min & max pool size have impact on db...
So min 6 means that are 6 minum shared connections to DB...which can be become a maximum of 16 connections...
you can increase max if you need db performance (i.e. when you have so many client connections you need to increase it)

Thread pool size i think that can be the memory allocated for every thread created by application server...but i don't kwno when can be ueful...

bye bye,

Re: serversettings.xml parameter values

Hi Simone,

Thanks. I've increased the Threadpoolsize. Now I'm observing the performance.

Re: serversettings.xml parameter values

Smitha,

Please can you tell me how to get to see the Application Server Status Console?

I presume that's what you are using to monitor the performance?

I've ticked the box to enable the server status console in the server config dialog box and restated the server but nothing appears.

What should I run to see the Status Console?

Re: serversettings.xml parameter values

You have to run SD Server from batch file ando not via Windows Services

Re: serversettings.xml parameter values

Hi Peter,

you can run startserver.bat file in application server to see the Application server console.
It will be in your install folder (servicedesk 4.5\server\bin folder)
