sd_event "unknown external application"

I receive "SERVER RESPONSE=ERROR: unknown external application" error when I run sd_event.exe.

I created a .bat file that calls sd_event.exe -f windows_wkly_virus_update.ini -v SID=sd_event_ID

When I run the .bat file, I receive the following error:

VALUE_LIST=”username=OVO#password=servicedesk #mapping=Windows_wkly_update#classname=wkly_update#modus=INSERT# “
SERVER=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
PORT=30980
SERVER RESPONSE=ERROR: unknown external application: windows_wkly_virus_updat
TRY=1
LOGFILE=sd_event.log
ERROR_LOG_FILE=sd_event_error.log
TIMESTAMP=12/18/2007 10:03
SEND=true

I've verified all spelling between the .ini and import mapping.
It worked correctly on my test envir. but not on production.
Any ideals why the server cannot identify the import mapping file?

Thanks, Gail

Re: sd_event "unknown external application"

Hi Gail,

Chec that you are calling the correct import mapping class according to ini file.

Error indicates that: windows_wkly_virus_updat does not exists

But you are sending in the parameters:
Windows_wkly_update

Re: sd_event "unknown external application"

Hi,

Also, try using all lower case.. sometimes it is better to use all lower case in the class names.
So, instead of: Windows_wkly_update use windows_wkly_update

Re: sd_event "unknown external application"

Mark,

I double checked all names and did a test. If I change the mapping name in SD and the .ini file, I still receive the same error but with the new mapping name. It reads the name so I think its the .bat file.

I've tested from the cmd line and get a directory error. Not sure about using the "call" cmd.

Thanks for the help,

Re: sd_event "unknown external application"

Hi Gail,

try the attached file.

i don't thing you are successfuky getting to the correct directory

I have just added "cd D:\" to get to the root of D and from there your next commands should find the path and .exe

See what happens now.

Re: sd_event "unknown external application"

Mark,

I changed the .bat file but still received "SERVER RESPONSE=ERROR: unknown external application:" so I entered all parameters on the cmd and still received the error.
Since the cmd line didn't work, I figured something was wrong with the mapping file. I deleted and recreated the import mapping file in SD and it worked. The file must have gotten corrupted or something.

Thanks for the time and help. Have a great holiday and new year!
