Re: problem in start tomcat service for service pages

Hi,

Have you set the java_home variable to the following?

4. When the JSDK is installed, open the Windows Control Panel.

5. Select the Advanced tab, and click Environment Variables.

6. Click New in the System Variables area. The New System Variable dialog box is displayed.

7. Enter Java_Home in the Variable Name field, and the location of the
JSDK in the Variable Value field. If you have used the default this
will be C:\jdk1.3.1._03.

Re: problem in start tomcat service for service pages

Well I think you should do what it wants (and what the documentation says) and create the JAVA_HOME environment variable and point it at C:\JDK1.3.1_03 if you installed that from the HP CD or at whatever java you do have.

And if you installed the tomcat service WITHOUT this environment variable I should do a REINSTALLTOMCATSERVICE before you try again.

Re: problem in start tomcat service for service pages

If you start the Tomcat server manually the first time using the startup.bat. This will set the variables you need and from then on you can start it as a service.

I have seen issues installing services when you are logged in via terminal services.
