We're getting the following errors in the logserver.txt ------------------------------- Mon, 26/03/2007 10:46:51 Unable to connect to host: lrssbra0013.rci.rogers.ca on port:40999 Nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out (errno:238) at com.hp.ifc.net.tcp.AppTcpConnection.(Unknown Source) at com.hp.ifc.net.itp.AppItpClient.initConnection(Unknown Source) at com.hp.ifc.net.itp.AppItpClient.(Unknown Source) at com.hp.ifc.net.itp.AppItpClient.getClientFor(Unknown Source) at com.hp.ifc.net.itp.AppItpClient.remoteInvoke(Unknown Source) at com.hp.ifc.net.itp.AppItpProxy.__objectInvoke(Unknown Source) at com.hp.ifc.net.itp.AppItpProxy.__voidInvoke(Unknown Source) at com.hp.ifc.net.mq.ps.PAppMessageQueue.put(Unknown Source) at com.hp.ifc.net.mq.AppMessageQueue.send(Unknown Source) at com.hp.ifc.net.mq.AppMessageQueue.send(Unknown Source) at com.hp.itsm.srv.SrvWorkFlow.sendOnlineMessage(Unknown Source) at com.hp.itsm.srv.SrvWorkFlow.access$200(Unknown Source) at com.hp.itsm.srv.SrvWorkFlow$1.run(Unknown Source) at com.hp.ifc.util.AppThreadPool$PoolThread.run(Unknown Source) ------------------------------- The really odd part is that the host it's trying to connect to is a desktop. Why is the OVSD application server trying to connect to the desktop? We don't run any database rules to execute commands on the local machine.
Actually what it appears to be is the Tray bar notifier. If the user is not logged into OVSD, then when the application server tries to send a message to the user that they have records assigned it errors out.
I know I can setup a DB rule to clear this checkbox on the person record if it is set, but is there a way to modify the Tools, Options form to remove that option. I would just hate to have it offered to the user, but never allow it to be checked.
Are you sure this is happening when the client is not logged in. My understanding is that it will only try to do this if there is an entry for the user in rep_sessions table. I have seen sometimes old entries hanging around in this table (especially when you migrate from one environment to another). Confirm that all users are logged off and the application server(s) are shut down then clear this table (remove all rows).
If this is not the case then you can sometimes find personal or corporate firewalls are blocking this port. Is it allways on the same client of different clients?
