log a call through email

hi,

can the customer log a call through the Email to Service desk. Also can he update and check the status of the same.

only if your db containe real e-mail addresses in Customer(Person), so customer sent e-mail with Subject with command LIST.

can you pls elaborate a bit with if a user has to update a call how will he do it.

Admin guide has the answers to your question.
One thing, it depends on the settings you specify under tools/system/email as to WHO can open/update via email. Read the admin guide.
