java.lang.NullPointerEcxeption

I deleted some categories from Data/Codes/Change/Change_category. I cant see the records. I see an error message "java.lang.NullPointerEcxeption" when I try to open a record or create a record... I think, I have problems with database. How can I solve this issue?

my server runs on Windows 2003 Server and SP21.

Re: java.lang.NullPointerEcxeption

There are three categories by default:
Normal
Standerd
Urgent

you can restore these categories. you get NullPointerException when assignment to the pointer is missing.

if problem persist, tell the exact problem and what you wanted to do?

Re: java.lang.NullPointerEcxeption

Hi there,

Categories are very important and are used overall the applicaiton. Never delete completely them! Leave at least 1 Category.
If you don't want to use it just leave it beside.

What if you enter just one "dummy" category. Does it work?

Re: java.lang.NullPointerEcxeption

Hi there,
could you tell us if the Category is still empty?
IF yes please insert a value on it.

Restart.

Does it behave the same?

Re: java.lang.NullPointerEcxeption

hi!

Why don't you do a check for your database ? (start the DB config with /internal)

This will tell you how good is your DB

Re: java.lang.NullPointerEcxeption

Try clearing your client and server cache in case they still have records that is still using your deleted categories.

Re: java.lang.NullPointerEcxeption

Hi
Check the Change's Rules and Template, perhaps deleted code play in Rule or Template. But the same error come when cached files contane the old data the server, you told you did that, I just only say- the Client s/w must be closed, then clear the cache.
