java.lang.Exception: Unexpected EOF

Dear sirs,
I have installed the Client SD45 SP19 and when I tried to open it I have this message "java.lang.Exception: Unexpected EOF". I haven´t got the Aplication DAta\Myuser\Service Desk\cache, so the cache is not the problem.

Could anybody help me?

Thanks in advance

Re: java.lang.Exception: Unexpected EOF

Hi there,

Find the file Views.dat (usually in C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Hewlett-Packard\OpenView\Service Desk) and rename it. Then try again - this error can often happen with a corrupt views cache.

Hope this helps

Re: java.lang.Exception: Unexpected EOF

Hi,
Sorry but I haven´t got the views.dat file.
I have installed in my laptop only the Client, the Application server is in other machine, I connect it by IP.

Solution

Re: java.lang.Exception: Unexpected EOF

Hi there,

The location of views.dat is on the client (ie your laptop)in C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Hewlett-Packard\OpenView\Service Desk and if you cannot see try setting the view options on windows explorer.

open windows explorer, goto Tools>Folder options and select the View tab and then select the "Show hidden files and folder" option - see attcahed.

Then you should see your cache and the views.dat file.

Hope this helps

Ruth
