java error in SD 4.5 client if no action is done

sometimes, if no action is done in the SD client i get java exeption "java.lang.NullPointerExeption"
I have SD 4.5 SP 18.
is anyone know why this is happening?!?

Hello Carmit,

From what you wrote I think that what happens is that the client get disconnected by the server (if you have defined a timeout period in server, that if a client takes no action after a configured time period the server disconnect him) and when you try something it tries to connect to the server and that error happens.

This bug also exists on SP20.

Hi,

Did you try clearing the cache?

user profile-->application data-->hp ov-->service desk--> cache (delete this folder and check)

Hi Carmit,

as George said it generally happens if the client times out and you then try to do something. The error appears and then providing there are licenses available the client connects
