how to make Date Field Ready only after Status Change

we are using Service Desk 4.5 SP17. i need to make some Fields Readonly on Problem Form after Some status change . can you please guide me how can i make any Field read only .

Hi there,

This is not simple but there is a way:

Make the field read only on the roles wher you want this to happen. Set up a custom field that they can access and have a DB that checks the status and if allowed, copies this to the read-only field; if not allowed, it copies from the RO field back to the custom field. You can also have a UI rule that checks this and warns them if they do it that it will not be accepted

Thanks for your reply, i have changed the Fields access from Advanced Item Access for Problem and There is no effect on the form by doing this . please guide if i m doing something Wrong.i have attched the Time Fields Snap Shoot which i want to make readonly

Hi there,

Your screen shot shows that this role has the field as View but if there is another role associated with the account which gives more rights, these will take effect as roles are additive.

so I would check the roles
