how services are related to CI?

Please can any one tell me how CI's are related with services?
Also, what is the difference among these:
Managed CI
Used CI
Supported CI in relation to Services?
is there any document about this?

Thanks in advance!

Re: how services are related to CI?

Hi Geek ,
What is the version of SD u are using.
have you designed service ?
Please refer attached doc for service relation.

For operation management service you can manage CI.

In relate tab of a CI you have to relate CI you want to manage

Re: how services are related to CI?

hi Mahesh,
We are using SD4.5.
We have implemented SC and Prob modules,
but now we are going to launch whole SLM module, i just wanted to know about services and ci relationship in details.
This functionality is already there, but
how it works, etc. in details, if possible.

Re: how services are related to CI?

Hi Geek
In terms of functaniolity what do you want?

If CI , suppose server is down then service related to that CI will be consider down . And if you have configured SLA then further calculations take place.
If it is not clear please specif your question in detail.
