host from the user is logged in?

Hi,

what is the proper way to ensure what is the hostname from the user is working on. I would like to execute a command with the agent on that station.

Thanks
Peter

Re: host from the user is logged in?

Hi,

you can take the hostname from the application account record, knowing that:
1. You have defined the hostname for each application account, and
2. The users always login from the same PC.

Then, in the rule definition action enter the following field in the Host: [Entered by person;Account;Host]

Thanks,

But, I need a solution when user login occurs anywhere where sd client is installed.

Re: host from the user is logged in?

hi

well, there's an undesirable way:

create a trigger on the database table "rep_sessions"
this trigger will update the account ip-adress if the user connects.

account id is stored in the field "ses_acc_oid"
client ip is stored in the field "ses_client_ipaddress"

But modifying the SD database is NOT recommended&supported by HP.
The database BACKUP should be performed BEFORE any modifications
