Wait for workorder completion question

Is there a way via UI/DB rules to check the wait for workorder completion IF a workorder exists for a SR?

Re: Wait for workorder completion question

Hi Marc,

would yo unot just set Set "Wait for Work Order Completion" to yes in the Service Call template as the default value. That way it is always set.
If no work order is related then no loss.
If a workorder is related then it is set.

Though just as I am writing this I am wondering if you are you looking to have the value set on different conditions and no just on or aff for all service calls by default?

Re: Wait for workorder completion question

Yeah, I've got that, but as new templates are created etc... Is there a setting to turn it on in ALL templates or do I need to hit each one idividually... What I was trying to do was if workorder exists, then set to wait... via rules, but no such option exists I can find.

Re: Wait for workorder completion question

Hello Marc,

Create the following DB workorder rule:

When work order is created
where NOT (Service call;ID is empty)
Update service call's wait for workorder completion (Update Data) Service call;Wait for Work Order Completion set to true

Service call;Wait for Work Order Completion will not be listed by pressing "Fields" on the "Update Data" dialogue. You have to *type* it. After typing it you will notice that the icon on the right of the "Value" box will be active. Press it and select "Yes".

Re: Wait for workorder completion question

Hi George,
I tried to type Service call in for the update data action and the icon remains 'untouchable' Any other ideas?
Thanks

Re: Wait for workorder completion question

George, Mark thank you.
Mark, I actually tried all the string combo's and for some reason I forgot to capitalize one of the words which is why it did not work... head-space error.

Thanks again guys.
