Re: Vista & 4.5

Vasily,

Can you please confirm these steps:

1.Install MSJavaVM on Vista PC?

2.Install Service Desk Client on Vista PC?

3.Install Service Desk SP17 Update on Vista PC?

4.Copy servicedesk.jar file from the Service Desk Application Server to the lib folder on Vista PC?

If the answer to any of these is NO, could you please clarify in detail?

Thanks,
Colleen

Re: Vista & 4.5

Alex,

Did you have to do anything special like the steps I listed above? If it works in 19 without any hassles, we would consider upgrading.

Has anyone else had any luck with Vista and SP19 or other SP other than 17.

Thanks,
Colleen

Re: Vista & 4.5

I'm playing around with different SP to see what will work with Vista. I have 21 successfully installed and working on several Vista machines and have ONE instance of Vista working on SP17. However, I feel like that was by accident.

I installed a fresh box with Vista and Office 07, then installed the client. At that point I realized I forgot to install the MSJVM, so I installed it from my SP17 tools directory, then rebooted, then installed SP17 and it worked.

I'm wiping the box to try again, just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Let me know how everyone elses' Vista experiences are going and how realistic that May release date is.

Thanks,
Colleen

Re: Vista & 4.5

As per http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/java/
msjvm is no longer available so it would be helpful if any of you could point me to where did you find msjvm(probably it was avail at that time when you installed it), if it is not avaialble anymore then i guess there is no option other than waiting for sp23. keep me honest. next, one of the steps was placing the service desk jar file in lib directory of vista. someone tell me the location of lib directory because there are bunch of lib directories in vista. your prompt reply will be highly appreciated. thankyou
