VM Command Line Interpreter error wjview.exe

We are currently running Service Desk 4.5 SP26. We have a couple of users that continues to get VM Command Line Interpreter errors. See attached document for screen shots. These user have the same Roles as 14 (Help Desk)other users so I am pretty sure that is not the issue. We have cleared cached, Stopped and restarted the client during the day a couple of times, re-installed Java, JVM etc with no resolution. This error happens sometimes when changing fields, populating blank fields etc. So there is no was to re-produce this error on demand so it happens sometimes twice in a day or will not happen for a few days. Would using the SUN JVM be a option or does anybody else have this issue with any SD clients?

Re: VM Command Line Interpreter error wjview.exe

This is a error from the client log file which shows up a few times.

Re: VM Command Line Interpreter error wjview.exe

I recall you posted the same error a couple of months ago. There was a combination of errors showing in the client log suspiciously appearing over and over.

Care to attach the full client log again?

I have attached the log file. Thanks for looking at this.

Solution

Re: VM Command Line Interpreter error wjview.exe

It looks like you're still having problems with both Dynamic Forms and UI Rules as suggested last time (no points awarded then btw! :-/ ).

So this is what the client log is reporting:

Tue, 27/10/2009 15:57:32 Error executing rule 'U79# Subforms Category': the current active form is expected to be an AppDataForm.
Tue, 27/10/2009 16:06:48 com.ms.com.ComFailException: (0x80004005) Unspecified error

at com/hp/ifc/ui/toolbar/ISSToolBarControl.SaveLayout
.
.
.
Fri, 30/10/2009 15:03:43 Error executing rule 'U80# Subform Public and LT': the current active form does not contain the entity that triggered this rule.
Fri, 30/10/2009 15:54:36 com.ms.com.ComFailException: (0x80030020) A share violation has occurred.
.
.
.

Again, those are repeated ad nauseam in the client log file.

Delete forms.dat, check your UI Rules.

I'd take a closer look at exactly what those 2 users are doing when the error appear and have some of the other 14 repeat the same steps. Even if the problem cannot be reproduced on demand, if there are no differences in the Roles or in the way they access the client, it would be extremely weird that the error would appear for those 2 users only.

You cannot use the Sun JVM with the classic client. Client 2008, on the other hand, installs and uses its own instance of Sun JVM.

Hope this helps.

Re: VM Command Line Interpreter error wjview.exe

Sorry about the no points on prevoius post I went back and assigned points for that one. I will try your recommendation to see if it works and let you know. I have checked and made sure all users have the same jview / JVM versions installed so I know it is not that.
