Using sd_event with multiple application servers (OVSD45-SP20)

Is it possible to use sd_event with multiple application servers installed?

Customer has a OVOW75 cluster with also an OVSD4.5 application server installed on each pysical cluster node (OVSD-DB is running on an extra Oracle DB-server).
Via sd_event we want to forward events from OVOW to OVSD (create new incidents). Therefore we use a WMI-policy which checks for the "trouble-ticket" flag in the OVOW-message and triggers an automtaic action which creates sd_event call with all neccessary parameters. Everything is working fine in the test environment where we just use one application server.

Regards!

Re: Using sd_event with multiple application servers (OVSD45-SP20)

Hi G.,

try to send events with the sd_event utility to the virtual name of the server, ensures it will be working fine when one of the nodes will be down.

I hope it helps,

Thanks Ondra for your reply. Thats exactly what we are doing. And it works fine! So multiple application servers seems to be no problem for sd_event.
