Using Integration Account with WebApi

I am trying to use an integration account with a WebApi application to logon. However I am getting the following error:
=============================================
Tue Jun 26 18:53:27 MST 2007: The account you want to use for log on to hp OpenView service desk is for Integrations only !
=============================================
I thought this is what integration accounts were for, when you do not want/need to use the SD application user's interface.

Re: Using Integration Account with WebApi

Hello Meine,

We had the same issue. The integrations accounts can be used ONLY for data exchange. In order to use WebApi you must use, either normal account or Service Pages account.

Unfortunately this isn't stated (or at least I didn't find this in the manuals). And it isn't widely known!

Re: Using Integration Account with WebApi

Hi,

use a licensed account to ensure it works. Its not ideal if your tight on licenses but for some purposes the intergation accounts don't function as expected or required.

Thank you for your answers.

No, we are not low on licenses, so it should not be a problem.

I just wanted to make sure.

Re: Using Integration Account with WebApi

It was possible to use integration account with WEB-API in some older SPs. Then they changed it which caused a lot of stir ;-)
