Users in Service Desk

Hello,

Where are the users / passwords stored in the Oracle database of Service desk?

Is it possible to reset the password of users with an SQL statement?

Re: Users in Service Desk

Hello Bart,
This seams to be a little bit dangerous since password is encrypted!
May I ask why do you want to access this directly through the database?

It probably exists another way to reach what you need...

Re: Users in Service Desk

Hi,

I just saw that the column is call ACC_PASSWORD. and it 's indeed encrypted.

The reason why I want to change this with SQL is because I want to make some kind of Single signon...

Is there a way that I can encrypt the passwords like the encryption of SD?

Re: Users in Service Desk

Hi Bart,

Unfortunatly I don't think so... (encryption)

For Single Sign-on why don't you use LDAP.
Have a look on the "HP OpenView Service Desk 4.5 Data Exchange Administrator's Guide" on the appendix E : Integrating with LDAP.

Hope this Helps,

Re: Users in Service Desk

I can make use of LDAP, that would be perfect.
But I only want LDAP authentication.. but as far as I know, this isn't possible?

Re: Users in Service Desk

HI
If you like rest to constant standart Passsword, set for one user the this password, copy and store the string password from SQL and in next time just update accout row by stored Password string.
Or use web-api and crete the script for it.
