User can't add no of approvers & make status to

We have SD4.5 with SP19 on oracle

We are reseting no of approvers & Set Approver using rule
===================
When change is created
OR When change is modified
where Status (*) equals Approved by LM/SA
AND Tech Domains (*) is more than 3
Set Approver (Update Data) Approval;Approval Status set to Inactive; Approval;#Approvers Required set to (Make empty),
======================================
I found that when I login with normal user, I can't change Approval;Approval Status & Approval;#Approvers Required value

I found that only system administrator can change these values

Re: User can't add no of approvers & make status to

Hi there,

What do you mean a "normal" user? As far as I know, to alter these approavl fields, the role must allow write access to Chnage.

Otherwise try a DB rule instead.

Hope this helps, Ruth

Hi Ruth

To which fields, I should give write access in Chnage.

I think that only initiator or system user can add no of approvers & change inactive status to active.

Re: User can't add no of approvers & make status to

Hi there,

You are right: it is the initiator that can alter these fields.

So I would first try doing these steps manually as a "normal user" (that is an account which does not have system admin role): first set your self as the initiator and try the setting of approval status and #Approvers by hand. If it works manually it should work in the rule.

If it does not work manually, check the access rights of the user.
