Update CIs using Data Exchange

Hi,

I want to update existing CI Name and SearchCode in CMDB. Client has changed naming convention of CIs so I need to update CIs with new CI Name and Searchcode. Can anyone help me to find out how to do it using Data Exchange? Or is there any other way to do it? There are thousands of CIs in CMDB so I cant afford it doin manually.

Regards,
Nija

Re: Update CIs using Data Exchange

HI, On mine the opinion is easier for using SQL select which by the certain criterion would update fields. What principle updating your fields?

Re: Update CIs using Data Exchange

Hi,

You can achive the task using import.

There should be one unique key needs to be there for updating the values.

In your case both Searchcode & Name are changing.

Create two mapping rules.

1. Make Searchcode as Unique Key and put the new name for the existing searchcode (In this way you are updating the new Name format for the existing SearchCode)

2. Make Name as Unique key and put the new SearchCode for the existing Name (In this way you are updating the new SearchCode format for the existing Name)
