Unable to relay to email number address

Hi.
I have an email address that I need to send notifications to. This email address is composed only by numbers. When I send an email to any other no-number address, it works fine, but with addresses with only numbers, SD fails sending the email.
This is the output in the logfile:

I configured Outlook in order to use the sdeskcc account, and I was able to send messages to the 3057576 account. But, I cannot do it from SD Rules.

I would appreciate any help.

Kenneth,

You may wish to post a screen shot of the action in the DB rule that has the problem sending the mail. Are you hardcoding the address, or is the DB rule reading the address from a person record?

I know that we have used numerical email account names before, so I doubt that the problem is structural.

Thanks Josiah for your answer.

Actually, I have hardcoded the address as we are testing. But I always have modified the email attribute of a person and created a rule with that attribute and it still does not send the email to the all-numbers-address.

I do not know the answer, so I am just thinking out loud.

Given that:
- your email server can send email to a numeric account, when the client is NOT OVSD, and

- OVSD can send email to non-numeric accounts, and

- the hard-coded address looks OK in your DB rule,

then it would appear that OVSD is encoding the numbers in such a way that your mail server is not interpreting them all as numbers.

But I cannot get any farther than that.

Hi,
Can anybody tell me how you have managed to resolve this issue as I am also facing the same issue and cannot find a clue to solve the problem.

Please see the errors below and these errors are coming again and again.

Please also note that my emails stop working after some time say after 2 days and I have restart the server to make the emails functional again.

Hi fellow,

Take a look at the System Panel -> Email -> Access Filter ... try to put the information of the email you want to send to.

I have already entered the access filter information and mentioned the email address in the grant access list like *@yahoo.com
