UI rule for checking relations

Hello!

I need to check if Service Call is related with Incident closing Service Call by certain Closure Code. I suppose that it can be done by UI rule which checks Closure Code and the relation before closing Service Call's form, but I can not find how to check relations :(
I work with HP OV SD 4.5..

Re: UI rule for checking relations

Hello,

You can't check/update relations with UI Rules. With Db rules you can only update related items.

Thus, by the means of OVSD you can't do that. What you can do is to launch an external application to find if the service call is related to an incident.

Thanks for info! :)

Hm.. "To use external application to find if the service call is related to an incident"! Good idea! But I can not imagine which external application it might be.. Can you give an advice?

Hi AnTimka
I guess George thought of creating such an app to do that for you...

Re: UI rule for checking relations

Yup, that's the idea.

For example the query bellow will fetch the count of incidents related to a service call with a given id

select count (sre.SRE_INC_OID) from ITSM_SERVICE_RELATIONS sre
inner join itsm_servicecalls ser on ser.ser_oid=sre.sre_ser_oid
inner join itsm_incidents inc on sre.sre_inc_oid=inc_oid
where ser.ser_id=
