Successful Service Pages Attachment

For all those who've been struggeling for a quick solution of Service Pages Attachments,

Finally, you can replace two files with the attached files to be able to insert attachments on Service Pages (OVSD 5.0)
the path is:
C:\Program Files\HP OpenView\www\webapps\ServicePages

Good luck to all

Hi Mohammed

This is spot on, well done!

1) Do yua have any documentation of the files changes

2) Instantly, our customer asked for
- one than one file possible
- possible to attache to an existing service call

Is it possible?

Re: Successful Service Pages Attachment

I have now tried you attachment and is not working fine.

When I tried from the server, is working fine, but when I tried from a client (Workstation or citrix) is not working.

I got the following error.

Error - an exception was thrown trying to save the service call.
Exception - Error when put file c:\sc.ini to attachment server: java.io.FileNotFoundException: c:\sc.ini (The system cannot find the path specified). Check server log for details.
And I am using the same SP account both places.

Errorlog is attach

Re: Successful Service Pages Attachment

Hi,

I have similar code for Ver 4.5 but the attachment does not save to the SC. I have updated the createservicecall.jsp so the attachment can be selected but do i need to modify the saveservicecall.jsp also?
If so what do i need to add in there?

it looks like the issue is on saving the service pages request.

Re: Successful Service Pages Attachment

all you have to do is to replace the two files in the path i've mentioned before. no modification of .jsp needed.

Re: Successful Service Pages Attachment

Has anyone got this working in SD 4.5 for a client without the exception file not found error?

Thanks

Re: Successful Service Pages Attachment

We bit the bullet and asked HP C&I to build this customization for us. I'm not allowed to distribute it, but I will say ...
1) Its possible
2) It only allows 1 attachment / call.

And of course, HP Support will never touch your Service Pages problems until the end of time.

DEVELOPMENT - Won't listen to the features we want.
C & I - Paint us into corners, then offer us custom code to get us out.
SUPPORT - Won't support anything C&I touches.
