Step By step Guide to creating Classification Tree with Data Exchange

Greetings friends...I am in desperate need of a very step by step guide on how to build or add to the Classification Tree using Data Exchange on a simple Excel Spreadsheet.

I have tried my best to use the software manuals and a few tips given here but I'm pretty much lost.

If anyone can help me out with step by step guid for the sample snippet of the classification tree I have attached here, along with the xml, ini files and what kind of import mapping has to be used. I would be extremely grateful.

If I can understand done on a tiny scale I think I'll be able to ge through it on the larger one.

We are using SD 4.5 SP23.

Thank you in advance!

Re: Step By step Guide to creating Classification Tree with Data Exchange

1. Extract the two columns into XML as an object called CLASS with two fields TEXT and PARENT

2. Create an IMPORT MAPPING for "Service Call Classification" so that CLASS can be attach to the two fields TEXT (unique key) and PARENT.

3. In your example re-order the lines so that the top of the tree item "Operating System" comes first and is followed by its children
