State and Status

Hi Folks
I am trying to understand how does State work with Status. If you go to Admin console-Data-Codes-Work Order Status. There is a different state set for each status. Does any one know what does each state mean and what is the behaviour of each state.
Your prompt reply would be highly appreciated.

Re: State and Status

Anju,

I think that the state is used for things like when you consider an item to be resolved, or when the clock is stopped. Status is more granular than state - at least, it could be so.

Re: State and Status

Hi Anju,
In adiction to Josh said: Each status is relative to one state. By example: Status closed - state closed. Status in progress - state accountable. Status waiting - state not accountable , and so on.
