Sp17 and Templates!

Please can somebody explain why I can't amend ANY existing templates since I installed SP17?

I can access them and make changes to them via Admin Console but, the system takes absolutely no notice of the changes when I use the templates!

Also any new templates I create and relate to roles, do not appear in the list of available templates.

I've searched the forums and found one other reference to this problem, posted 30.1.2006 with no reply!

Please help, I need to amend existing templates and create new ones.......

Sounds bizarre, - SP17 hasn't given us any template issues? If no-one is replying then maybe it is time to log with HP?

The issue is solved by ITSM008386 in SP18

Also, you can restart the app server. The new template will work

We received a fix to resolve this issue from HP Support. In sp17, a sql script was added in mistake which causes the problem...
You need to run the attached sql and it will solve this issue. shut app.server down,
log into db as repo user (or if single user
as that user), load+run the script, restart app.server. You will no longer need to restart the app servers after template changes.
