Sorting CUSTOM CODE fields in SD

Is it possible to sort (in alphabetical order) entries in a "Custom Code" field instead of using the arrow keys to move each individual entry into the correct order?

Cheers

No - Annoying isn't it. If the code table is just been activated you can load the values from an external source and sort them before loading.

Re: Sorting CUSTOM CODE fields in SD

Hi,

In "Administrator Console", to change the order of code list values of an ordered code list, use the up and down arrows in the toolbar. It's in SD help.

Re: Sorting CUSTOM CODE fields in SD

Hi Chris,

See my attachment for a INI-file which could be used to order your codes alphabetically.

In the INI there is an example for ITSM_CODES (where all custom code fields are stored) and REP_CODES

You need to change <> or <> (see excel sheet), change DSN connection and change language ID if you use other language than English.

The import fails on duplicate items, so be sure you have removed duplicate entries in your code list.
