Smart action rule

Hi,
I have created this UI rule attached to integrate "now sms tool" with the SD 4.5 SP 17 where this rule is working only on the server as the sms.js file is on the server so how to pointer to the host name of the server via smart action rule & how to create it on the DB rules as I tried all the command lines but it didn't work

thanks

Re: Smart action rule

Hi there,

With a smart action (triggered by a UI rule) the target executable (sms.js) MUST be on the all client machines.

To obey on the server it must be done as a DB rule and you must have a SD agent installed on the server.

I cannot check your attachment as it will not open.

Hope this helps, Ruth

Re: Smart action rule

Hi Ruth,

where can I find the SD agent on the server as I think it is already installed on the server?

Thanks

Re: Smart action rule

Hi there,

You need to check that the SD agent service is running on the server; if you are on windows just run up services and check in the usual way.

Then when you do a DB rule and use exec command action, specify the server as the host for the command and this will then communicate with the agent. There is a log file for the agent (logagent.txt usually in C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\OpenView\service desk 4.5\agent\log)

Hope this helps, Ruth
