We are using some smart actions to send e-mails to clients, but there seems to be a limitation on the amount of information you can put in the parameter field for the smart action, is there a way we can increase the numbers of characters of this field ?
I don't think you can increase this but you could use a DB rule to send emails instead. We have done this by having a custom 4K text field on a call to hold the message and a 255 to hold the email address. Then the DB rule sends to that address and then empties the field; if the 255 field is empty, it sends to the caller's email address.
Thanks for the new angle, I will probably use this as well. But this doesn`t solve my initial problem. As I can see tha rules are triggered at certain circumstances, when a SC is created, closed, modified etc. What I need is to send a mail when I choose, not on every occasion.
Example: If I need additional information from a user, I have created a smart action template that opens up an e-mail with preconfigured info that I can send to the user.
Is there a way I can configure a rule to do the same thing in a simple way ? Ideally I would like to get a list of the different mailtemplates I have and then choose the one I would like to send.
I agree with Ruth: there is no way of expanding the standart text in Actions.
We have made workaround of this problem (see sreenshot) by DB rules. The email is sending after pushing the button "send" and saving SC. I dont see any ways how this problem can be solved by UI rules or something.
