Single view for service calls assigned to 3 workgoups

I want to create a View for Manager whos responsible for 3 workgroups & he wants to see all service calls assigned to 3 work groups in one view.
Is it possible to create a view this one?

Thanks

Re: Single view for service calls assigned to 3 workgoups

Yes, this is possible and can be done using various ways.

For example you can enable a custom boolean on work groups and have a view with filter based on this boolean.

The other option is to use the advanced filters introduced in SP19 that allows AND/OR/NOT clauses in view filters.

Why just add the Manager as menber to Group?
If you don't like show the "Manager's" records in members list, use the Folder.

Do you have 1 manager per group?

Sean,
If your Workgroup names have something in common you can make the view with a condition like Workgroup;Name starts with .... or Workgroup;Name contains. You may need to alter your Workgroup names a bit, but then it can be done.

Re: Single view for service calls assigned to 3 workgoups

Hi Sean,
Attached an example of a filter with "or-ed" workgroups in the assigment field.
I used an inverted filter (excluding in stead of including) in the view, but tested for an "or" operator on searchcode and that is available.
Sorry for the dutch texts, let me know if u need more explanation.
We use 4.5SP17
Hope this helps, Lex.

Re: Single view for service calls assigned to 3 workgoups

I don't wants to create separate view for each workgroups

We have 1 manager for 3 workgroups

another manager for another 3 workgroups

Manager wants to see all service calls of 3 wrokgoups in single view

If I create view for individual work groups,
then I will have 3 different views

Re: Single view for service calls assigned to 3 workgoups

Sean,
I do mean 1 view. Create a system view and assign it to the role of the manager.
1. Tools system presentation views service call
2. Tools system security roles
See attachment for view filtering conditions possibilities.
Good luck!

Re: Single view for service calls assigned to 3 workgoups

Hi Sean,
I understand. My solution comes from the idea that the user can make his/her own views.
But if you have several managers with each one different workgroups then it will be hard to create a standard view.
Then the "custom boolean" solution might be better. But even then the administrator, or the manager, will have to maintain the booleans for each manager.
