Service Desk data update - AttributeString format - Am I missing something?

Hi,

This is what the manual says:
The parameters sent by Service Desk as specified under Output to External System are passed on as text. However, Service Desk may not render these attribute values as text when seen in the Service Desk client.
...
...
Date Time Actual Start yyyy.MM.dd.HH.mm.ss The date is in the timezone UTC 2003.02.12.17.39.00

Here's what I'm getting on my jsp log file when printing the parameters:

output_field_id_1 556335108
output_field_value_1 24/01/06 16:39
action_name Calculate duration
session_id 34974747
output_field_name_1 ActualStart

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong...

Thanks,
Tomer.

Hi, the service pack docummentation is kind of confusing, so:

-Read Service Pack 8 addendum docummentation, you can download from the openview manuals page(it's better than sp 7 addendum), read specially the Appendix B, it has some examples too.

As far as i know, the data update protocol has some predefined variables (action_name or session_id ) and other variables used to pass the data, so for each attribute you configure in the rule, you will have:

-output_field_name_#: this is the name of the attribute in service desk
-output_field_value_#:this is the value of the attribute
-output_field_id_#:this is the internal object id

if you have several attributes, you will have a tree name-value-id parameters in your HTTP post request.

Hope this helps.
