Service Desk Emails

Hi,
We are using SD 5.1 and have been recommended to do some changes in email settings by auditors.
They have asked us to change the login name of service desk mailbox which is generic one say 'abc'. This mailbox is configured to send/receive email notifications inthe application & is tied to email address abc@dmomainname.com.
If we change the username of this mailbox in exchange server to say 'def' & correspondingly change the same in Inbound email address-> email address to 'def'
Will this have any impact on services.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Service Desk Emails

Hi,

When users send email to SD to open incidents, the email is received by your Exchage(?) server, and then it is redirected to the SD server.

If you change the email address, all you ned to do is remap in the Exchange server Exchange connector to properly forward the emails from thsi new account to the SD server.

In theory, you won't need to change anything on the Service Desk side.
