Service Desk DB rule question

dear expert
i made command execution DB rule which executes a command,and the host field is ip address of the SD application server,it doesnot run,is there any configuration for that or any ports or services must be openned or started

what type of command you want to exec.
Post the rule.

Hi wagdyhafez;

Check the log file $OV_LOG/rules0.0.en if the rule match the criteria. Also note that you have to provide the full path of the command.

Hi,

For any kind of command execution DB rule the host on which you are executing the command should have "HP openview service desk agent" running with specific Service Pack.
This is mandetory for successful execution.

Check out it is running or not. If not install it, that should resolve.

thanks for you all
but i have installed SD agent (SD4.5 sp17)
the Rule meet all criteria
the command i need to be run is
(perl.exe file_name.pl)
it is a perl script,note that the script runs succefully from the command line but from the DB rules doesnot run at all
Any Ideas??

Hi,

Post the complete snap shot of the command window of the DB rule.

I think the perl.exe has inclucded in the PATH.

If you are running the Sd agent as a service, try stopping that and run the sd_agent manually via the shortcut and see if it now works.
