Just upgraded our service desk 4.5 application from service pack 13 to 19. Upgrade went fine, but the GUI still looks the same. Same outlay, same icon coloumn on the left hand side, same GUI. I had tried out Hp Openview 5.0 in the test environment and it looked totally different. Also the service desk 4.5-5.0 difference guide shows that the GUI changes between the two versions. But with our upgrade from 5.4 service pack 13 to 19, nothing seemed to change. Did we miss a step? Application functionality currently seems fine.
Thanks for the reply Mark, but we were hoping for the new GUI interface. Is it possible to obtain the new GUI interface? Possibly by installing service desk 5.0 or 5.1 and then migrating data from our service desk 4.5 service pack 19 in the test environment?
For the time being if you ugprade to SP greater than SP17 you won't be able to update to 5.1. Hopefully though HP seems to abandon SD it will provide sometime the means to upgrade from SP17 to 5.1 SPxxx (since 5.2 won't come out). But there also chances that everyone who upgraded to SP18 or greater will stick with SD 4.5
