Service Call template performance

I am experiencing a delay with Service Call templates launching. It is about 3-5 seconds. The version is Service Desk 4.5, SP 28. Service Call volume is approximately 12,000 per month. There are approximately 6,000 schedule tasks running. No changes/logic involving templates have been made recently.

Thoughts? Thanks...

Re: Service Call template performance

Check the serverlog for any OutOfMemory errors, see if your system is reaching its max capacity already.

Re: Service Call template performance

Not sure if by template you mean form. Do those 3-5 seconds pass when you open a new item or when you select a specific template from the dropdown?

I'd have a look at throughput vs configuration/maintenance.

Depending on your hardware capabilities and resources available, 6K scheduled tasks might be a bit too much for a single appserver as you discussed in http://forums13.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=708927.

If you have multiple appservers, check how much memory each is configured to use at a maximum.

Also, if this is happening only for Service Calls and not other items, check how many Service Call records there are in the SD database.

Hope this helps.
Points for the guidance are welcome.
