I'd like to replicate my production DB (SQL Server 2000) to another server, to use it as a test environment for changes. This must be a common procedure, so what I'm asking is for someone to write down the steps to achieve this.
i follow the below steps to achieve the above behavior.
Note: I am currently using MSSQL 2000
1) Open SQL Enterprise Manager 2) right click on the Database that I am using for OVSD 3) select "All Tasks --> Backup Database..." and specify the location and file where i need to backup 4) once backup is done, copy this file to the destination system 5) open SQL enterprise manager on the destination system, create a new database having the same name that is being used on the source machine 6) Right click on the new database, select "All Tasks --> Restore Database..." 7) once the database is restored, start the OVSD Application Server, using DB COnfiguration wizard, upgrade the database and then start using it.
