Re: SD4 SP4 mail problems with HTML format containig pictures

Hello,

it is not allowed to send inbound e-mails to SD in HTML format with in-line graphics.
Admin guide says that only e-mail in plain/text format are accepted but we found out that also HTML format and RTF is accepted without problems. But in-line pictures can cause problems.
Try to send picture as an attachment.

Hope it helps

Thanks, Jan, that seems to be the case.

do you know if this is supported in SD 4.5?

Re: SD4 SP4 mail problems with HTML format containig pictures

Hallo Mait,

I've tested email integration on SD 4.5 SP3. So all my conclusions were connected to SD 4.5.

Re: SD4 SP4 mail problems with HTML format containig pictures

What changes? Hopefully I'm not missing something!

As far as I know, Service Desk only accepts Plain Text 100% of the time.

Sending multipart content, including HTML blocks as the body of the message results in some interesting side-effects, depending on the setup of the company e-mail platform.

One of them is the creation of a content.html file being attached to the ticket. While this is a nice way to handle content that actually relates to the ticket, it may also cause unnecessary FTP overhead if it's only a company logo that is being attached.

Yes, the *BEGIN and *END tags can be used but *END-users (pun intended) are nowhere near to putting those in their e-mail messages to OVSD.

Hope this helps. Points are welcome!
