SD database oracle configuration error:oracle IO error

Hi,

Here the situation is, I installed oracle 9i on solaris machine, and SD is on win 2000, when I tried to configure the database, its giving IO error, saying that not a proper administrator.

Please explain me about the database configuration part.

Re: SD database oracle configuration error:oracle IO error

From a database point of view, you just need to have the system (or any other user with such preveleges) account's password and the oracle SID (of course, the system name on which DB runs). Once you have that info, you can use the OVSD database configuration wizard (start --> Programs --> hp openview service desk 4.5 --> application server --> database configuration wizard) to create a new database for OVSD. The wizard itself will create a new oracle user and related tablespaces. You will have the flexibility to modify the parameters for the new tablespaces. The wizard is self explanatory. Just go through the dialog and hope you will complete successfully creating a database. Good luck.
