Web console (SP20) is installed on a separate machine than the application server (test - SP20).
Tomcat and Apache are running (on different ports). Javaversion: 5.0 JAVAhome is defined.

Was JAVA_HOME defined BEFORE you installed the web_console and it created its services? I remember issues with Service Pages many months back where I did the install, tried to set JAVA_HOME then and had similar problems (the JAVAC compiler is being called and not liking the environment it finds)
first we installed the web console, set the java_home and when reinstalled the web console. So I think it's ok. The XP-Softwarelist shows: J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6.0 (Sun - internal Version 22.214.171.124)
