SD Incident mail Logs?

Hi Guys,
when there is an incident on SD it send mail to a group via SMTP mail server.
Now there is delay of 8 mints in Incident logged to SD and mail received by end user.
In SD where I can check the logs showing that mail has been sent to ... and what time.

we have SD 5.1 in HP Unix on Oracle DB.

Re: SD Incident mail Logs?

Hi Fayaz,

If the HPSD log shows that email was sent on correct time. problem can be at email server side.

Check your email server. whether delay was from email server ?

Thanks,

Re: SD Incident mail Logs?

If you want to check log for enail sent in SD. It will be captured in logserver.txt.

you can find out this file in the server where SD is installed.

Thanks,

Re: SD Incident mail Logs?

Dear Friend,
At exchange end it is showing that mail came from SD at 10:48 and it has been send to recepient at same time that is OK.

Now at SD how I can prove that that incident has been registred at 10:40 and same time mail has been sent to exchange...to recepinets..., I will check the log file you mentioned .
IF SD trigers a mail where are the logs? very simple question!!!
Thank you.

Re: SD Incident mail Logs?

Hi Fayaz,

If SD sent out the email it will be captured only in Logserver.txt , You can check this log and prove the same.

You can find out this log file in your application server's installable folder/server/log/Logserver.txt

Thanks,

The email notifications are logged in /var/opt/OV/log/system.0.en

I dont see any chances of it getting delayed in the SD server. It might be due to a big que in the email server. You can prove this showing the logs.
