SD 5.1- using webapi to change Service Page Account Passwords without knowing previous password

Does anyone know of a way to use the webapi to change a service page account password without know the previous password? We can do this already if we know the previous password, but would like to set passwords without knowing the previous one.

Also - does anyone know of a way to block/unblock service page accounts with the webapi?

Re: SD 5.1- using webapi to change Service Page Account Passwords without knowing previous password

Hi Chris,

There is a getPassword() method available from com.hp.ov.webapi.obs.IAccount. This returns the encrypted password for the account, which can then be used to specify the "old-password". I'm not sure that this is applicable for both account types (SD application accounts and SP End User accounts).

You can also have a look at the JSP of the Service Pages (chgPasswd.jsp) how the password change is implemented.

Hope this helps

Best regards

Sam
