SD 5.1 - show CI's related to Category in SSP

In the SSP, we're trying to display a limited set of CI's that we have related to Service Call Category field values. Currently, no CI's are visible and we haven't found a way to display the CI's realted to each category. Does anyone know how this can be accomplished?

thanks

The standard SSP shows CI used by the current caller. If you want to show a set based on Servicecall category you will need to modify the SSP by writing a differnt query to populate the list of available CIs.

This needs to be done using the web API. It can be done , you just need to play with the web API a bit.

Hi Gerry,

thanks for you response. Do you have any specific hints on how we can achieve this with the WebAPI? I have a dev team looking into how to do this, but they have been having trouble determining how to do this without any specific WebAPI details from HP.

thanks

Chris,
There is a WebAPI Guide.pdf under documentation on the distribution.
After you install there is a javadoc.zip under the examples subdirectory which expands to detail the api in the standard java style.

The file you need to update is someting like CreateSeviceCall.jsp

You will find something like
CIs=xx.find_all_CIs_for_user
that populates the CIs arrary.

You need to use you own method to populate CIs.

Look in the Configutaion Item section of javadoc and create and IWhereCriteria object with the correct selection criteria.

Then use it in something like
CIs=xx.findCIsWhere(IWhere)
(doing from memory so wont be exactly this)

The java examples under examples sub directory give an example of building a search.

Between the pdf, the javadocs, the examples and looking at the existing JSP files and a few more questions here you should be able to achieve this.

Regards
Gerry
